Good water balance - you can also
watch the Video here! Maintaining proper Total Alkalinity (TA) helps prevent 'pH bounce" when in a range of 80 - 125 ppm.
HIGH TA (over 140 ppm) can cause difficulty in keeping pH in its proper range as well as leading to scaling
and certain staining.
Please Note: ParPools.com does NOT recommend
the use of Muriatic Acid in Residential Swimming Pools to lower pH &
Total Alkalinity because of its very corrosive and frankly dangerous
nature. Dry, granular acid such as BioGuard Lo 'n Slo, effectively lower
the pH & total alkalinity and it's much safer to use and store in your
home.
If you live in an area of "hard
water," be sure to have your water tested frequently.
Special adjustments will need to be addressed
including pH & Total Alkalinity to
prevent scaling & damage to your pool & its equipment.

*Note: If
your swimming pool requires more than 5 drops of ADR to reach the
desired pH level, add the amount indicated for 5 drops ADR and
retest the next day. DO NOT test sooner. The chemicals need to
properly circulate thoroughly.
This will help prevent over-treating a pool if you make a mistake
& getting on a pH see-saw. |

*Note: Do not add
more than 1 quart of acid per 10,000 gallons of water at one time.
If the pool requires more than 1 Quart of Muriatic Acid per 10,000
gallons of water, add the maximum amount then retest 12 - 24 hours
later and make further adjustments. This will help prevent
over-treating the pool. |
All dosages are approximate. Remember to retest the Total Alkalinity the
following day, letting the filter run continuously for 24 hours & adjust as necessary.
