Special note: If your spa has been operational or NOT operational for any period of time, we strongly recommend treating the spa FIRST with a spa plumbing cleaner such as product such as Spa Purge or Swirl Away or AquaFinesse Spa Clean Tablet or Spa System Flush or SpaBoss Whirlpool Rinse to attack & remove the biofilm.. Cleaning the plumbing lines gets rid of stuff hiding in those concealed places where bacteria & problems hide & breed. For more information about bio-films, please read this information.

Fill spa or hot tub with
water. Add 1.0 oz. SpaGuard®
Stain & Scale Control
per 300 gallons of spa water.

Allow to heat up to desired
temperature, no more than 104°F.

Once filled, start your
equipment following the manufacturer's instructions.

Add 1.0 oz. SpaGuard®
Water Clarifier per 300 gallons. Circulate for about
5 minutes.

Using a BioGuard®/SpaGuard®
4 way Test Strip, test for Total Alkalinity,
Calcium Hardness & pH.

Balance the Total Alkalinity,
Calcium Hardness (if using SpaGuard Spa Sentry,
DO NOT adjust Calcium Hardness) & pH of the spa water.**

Apply SpaGuard®
Enhanced Shock according to label instructions. Establish a
proper chlorine residual of 1.0 ppm chlorine.

Add 1.0 oz. SpaGuard®
Natural Spa Enzyme per 100 gallons of spa water.

Insert Nature2®
or Spa Frog®
Cartridge properly into filter cartridge.
Weekly:
Monthly:
Every 3 to 4 Months:

Note:
If using SpaGuard®
Spa Sentry, DO NOT
balance the Calcium Hardness. Spa Sentry will take care of this.
Also, DO NOT turn on the spa or hot tub's heater until the water has cleared
through filtration or add
Spa Sentry AFTER the water has reached its normal
operating temperature.
