Here's how to convert your salt pool to a Mineral Springs®
System
BioGuard® Mineral
Springs® System has many significant advantages over using
other stand alone electrolytic saline devices, such as: Less pH fluctuation (contains built-in buffers)
Less scale build-up on filter, heater &
electrolytic cell (contains built-in chelants)
Built-in filter enhancers and clarifiers
Softer water
Virtually eliminates staining due to iron present in
"cheap" salt
Follow these simple steps to begin your Mineral Springs®
experience:
Balance the pool water based on the following ranges:
Total Alkalinity: 100 -120 ppm; Ideal 100ppm
Calcium Hardness: 200-400 ppm **
pH: 7.4-7.6
Since a mineral or salt level has already been
established in the pool, it is not necessary to add Beginnings®. However, to achieve some of the same benefits that Beginnings®offers, add BioGuard®Optimizer
Plus®
according to label directions to obtain a 50 ppm residual.
Add 1 quart of BioGuard®
Scale
Inhibitor per 10,000 gallons of pool water to prevent scaling.
If your Calcium hardness is over 400 ppm, a double dosage may be necessary.
If heavy metals such as Iron, Copper or Manganese are
present in the water, treat with 1 quart BioGuard®Pool Magnet
per 10,000 gallons.
Add 1.5 lb. BioGuard®
Stabilizer 100 per 5,000 gallons
of water to prevent sanitizer degradation from UV light. Also known as
Cyanuric acid, conditioner or chlorine stabilizer. CYA level should be
about 40 ppm.
Begin the maintenance program by adding Mineral
Springs®Renewal™on a weekly basis: 1 lb. per 5,000 gallons or 1 bag (4 lb) per 20,000
gallons.
That's it! Once you're going, it's...
One product (Renewal®)
Once a week
No Algae (none that our customers have reported yet in
5 years!)
