Why we made the Switch.

In 2001 Par Pool & Spa was faced with a dilemma, again.

When we first took on the Baqua Spa® line at its introduction in about 1995, we were very familiar & excited that there was finally a biguanide product for use in a spa.  Especially since we had been successfully selling & carrying the Baquacil® brand of biguanide (PHMB) non-chlorine, non-bromine pool care system since 1984.

The problem was, Par Pool & Spa has been a successful BioGuard®/SpaGuard® Dealer since the early 1970's.  The power of BioGuard's superior products, product innovation, marketing, support, and most importantly support for you our customers is second to none in the Pool & Spa industry.  We were forced to now have 2 identical (quality of product-wise) lines of products.

Without going into the details, Par Pool & Spa chose Soft Soak®.  It wasn't about money because the 2 product lines are priced within pennies of each other.  BioGuard®/SpaGuard® provides us, and in turn you, the "after-the-sale" service that we all expect, and beyond.  Avecia (the manufacturer of Baqua Spa at the time) was not able to.
